Innocence

The Beauty Unfolding series of paintings captures the allure of the modern Japanese woman and visually celebrates the aspects that combine to form this intriguing and unique beauty.

“Innocence” subtly blends the cultural heritage of the past with the delicate western influences of the present.

As the beautiful maiden quietly gazes into the mirror, she symbolically recognizes the age-old traditions that have combined with the contemporary ones to create the visage she sees before her.

As an adopted child of Chinese-American expatriates living in Hong Kong, I have always been intrigued by how the Chinese culture explained the mysteries of the universe.
