Freedom depicts Quest Spring, one of the beautiful maidens portrayed in Dream of the Red Chamber.
Quest was married off by her family to a man from a faraway province, and was not allowed to visit her family.
So, she released her pet birds, hoping they would find their way home, thus bringing her mentally and spiritually back to her parents and siblings.
